Turkish Thoracic Society, with its more than 5700 members, 17 branches, 25 scientific assemblies and task forces, scientific and professional activities and standard defining work for the profession, constitutes the largest specialist organization in the area of respiratory health in Turkey.

The society has a structure similar to the ERS model. Some of the meetings of the Society have been held together with ERS to facilitate interaction between ERS and TTS members as well as benefiting from educational inputs from distinguished experts of the ERS. Many ERS members have been participating in the meetings of the Society.

The Society has 17 branches for different geographical regions of the country.

Founded in 1905 as the American Sanatorium Association to prevent, control, and treat tuberculosis; renamed the American Trudeau Society in 1938 and the American Thoracic Society in 1960. Originally the medical section of the American Lung Association, the Society became independently incorporated in 2000 as a 501 (c) (3) organization.

The American Thoracic Society is the world's leading medical society dedicated to accelerating the advancement of global respiratory health through multidisciplinary collaboration, education, and advocacy. Core activities of the Society’s more than 16,000 members are focused on leading scientific discoveries, advancing professional development, impacting global health, and transforming patient care. Key areas of member focus include developing clinical practice guidelines, hosting the annual International Conference, publishing four peer-reviewed journals, advocating for improved respiratory health globally, and developing an array of patient education and career development resources.

Oman Respiratory Society since its inception is determined to spread awareness about the diverse respiratory ailments not only at the health care personnel level but also at the public and societal levels.

The Emirates Society of Internal Medicine (ESIM) is a member of Emirates Medical Association is non-profit organization, and works under the umbrella of Emirates medical association.

It’s goals to collaborate with all healthcare providers and has established a network for all the specialties of internal medicine throughout the UAE. ESIM is seeking a high educational standard and a high-quality educational event independently, and also in collaboration with the major international societies.
