Eligibility
  • Minimum 20 years of total professional experience
  • Minimum 10 years of contribution within the UAE
  • Significant and sustained contribution to:
    • Clinical care
    • Research
    • Education
    • Healthcare policy
  • Open to UAE-based candidates (primary focus)
Criteria
  • Long-term impact on patient care and healthcare systems
  • Leadership at institutional, national, or international level
  • Contributions to research, education, or policy
  • Professional integrity and reputation
  • Legacy (mentorship, programs, systems improvement)

  • No self-nomination
  • Nominated by:
    • Peer nomination/ Senior society members
    • ETS Awards Committee
  • Supporting documentation may be requested
  • Maximum 1 recipient per year

Eligibility

• Minimum 15 years of overall professional experience • Minimum of 7 years of UAE experience • Demonstrated leadership in: o Clinical programs o Academic departments o Professional organizations • Open to self-nomination and peer nomination

• Self-nomination/ Peer-nomination • Leadership impact and vision • Program, service, or initiative development • Collaboration across institutions/regions • Influence on workforce development • Sustainability of initiatives

Innovation in Respiratory Medicine

Innovation Award

Purpose

To recognize innovative initiatives, models, technologies, or practices that have been successfully implemented in respiratory medicine.

Eligibility

• Individuals, teams, or institutions • Self-nomination/ Peer nomination • Open to UAE-based (preferred) and international contributors Key Requirement: • Must demonstrate real implementation or applied innovation • Concept-only submissions are not allowed

Criteria

• Originality and novelty • Clinical relevance • Evidence of implementation • Impact on patient outcomes • Scalability and sustainability • Teamwork and collaboration

Nomination Process

Conditions: • Innovation must be implemented in practice, education, research, or service delivery • Preference may be given to submissions with measurable impact

Research Excellence in Respiratory Care

Research Excellence Award

Purpose

To recognize outstanding research contribution with recent and meaningful impact on respiratory care.

Eligibility

• Researchers with strong publication record • Work must be recent and impactful and published in Q1 or Q2 journals (last 2 years) • Self-nomination/ Peer nomination

Criteria

• Scientific quality and rigor • Impact on the field (citations, guidelines) • Originality and innovation • Methodological strength • Contribution to respiratory medicine Requirements: • Top 3-5 publications • Supporting documentation required

• Current fellows or within 1 year of completion • Nomination required (Program Director) • Open for UAE based Fellows and GCC Fellows

Nomination / Selection Process: • Automatically considered upon abstract acceptance and presentation • Judged during the congress by the designated review panel Conditions: • Presenter must be available for evaluation during the assigned session • Final decision based on judges' scoring • No separate self-nomination required
