Dr. Rania Abusamra has more than 17 years’ experience within Paediatrics in the United Kingdom. She became a pulmonologist at Cambridge University Hospital and has been working as a paediatric pulmonologist consultant at King's College Hospital, London for five years where she led the non-invasive ventilation for children service. She also worked at a number of London's leading hospitals, such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal London Hospital, St George's Hospital and St Thomas' Hospital. Dr Abusamra has moved to Dubai to join Mediclinic City hospital in 2020. Dr. Abusamra offers expertise in difficult and rare lung disease and complicated cases. She has several peer reviews and scholarly publications and has been a speaker in a number of international conferences. Dr Abusamra was a senior lecturer for the King's College London advanced paediatric MSc program. She has also initiated several programs to work with cystic fibrosis NGOs and patients in the Arab world.

Dr. Majid Al Saleh Alteneiji is a pediatric pulmonologist and sleep physician at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital in Dubai. Dr. Majid completed his fellowship training at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, Canada in pediatric pulmonology while working as a co-chief fellow, and another in pediatric sleep medicine. He returned to UAE in 2021 working for close to two years at Tawam Hospital and then finally moved back to Dubai joining Al Jalila Hospital. His interests quality improvement, chronic ventilation, respiratory neuromuscular disease and sleep medicine.

Dr. Nader Francis is a distinguished Pediatric Thoracic Consultant boasting an extensive 26-year career in the field. He presently holds the prestigious position of Head of the Pediatric Chest Diseases Unit at Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Sharjah. 

Dr. Francis embarked on his medical journey at the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Medicine, where he completed his degree in General Medicine in 1990. Seeking specialization in pediatrics, he relocated to Belgium for further education at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Brussels. His pursuit of excellence led him to the Free University of Brussels, where he specialized in pediatric chest diseases, culminating in his graduation in 1998. Dr. Francis is also a proud member of the European Respiratory Diseases Association. 

Before joining Al Qassimi Hospital in 2016, Dr. Francis served at the University of Aleppo as a Pediatric Chest Physician. In this role, he was responsible for supervising medical students and pediatric residents, enriching the educational experience with his expertise. His tenure in the UAE has been marked by significant contributions to both education and scientific research. Dr. Francis has authored numerous research papers published in prestigious medical journals, focusing on pediatric chest diseases. 

Under his leadership, the Pediatric Chest Diseases Unit at Al Qasimi Hospital has seen remarkable growth and development. Today, the unit stands as a comprehensive center for pediatric chest medicine, encompassing all facets, including sleep-related diseases. Dr. Francis’s vision is to elevate the Pediatric Chest Diseases Unit at Al Qasimi Pediatric Hospital to a benchmark of excellence on a regional scale, a testament to his dedication and ambition in the field of pediatric respiratory medicine. 

Dr. Al Ahbabi obtained Bachelor of Health Sciences (MBBS) from Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences; United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain, United Arab Emirates in June 2011. She completed Pediatric residency program at Tawam Hospital in August 2016 and obtained Arab Board in Pediatrics in April 2017. She completed pediatric respiratory fellowship at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and Faculty of Pediatrics, in Dublin between July 2019 and September 2021. She obtained pediatric respiratory fellowship and pediatric sleep training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, United Kingdome, between November 2021 and January 2023. Dr. Al Ahbabi is working as a consultant in pediatric pulmonology at Tawam Hospital from April 2023 until present. 

Dr. Andrew Ives studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, and Imperial College London, in the UK. He completed pediatric respiratory specialist training at the Royal London Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospitals in London. He also did 2 years of research at the Royal Brompton Hospital, working with children with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. He is a registered and accredited specialist in children’s respiratory medicine. He is currently a pediatric pulmonology consultant at Mediclinic in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Before this he was a consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he also ran the paediatric undergraduate medical course for the University of Oxford. As a paediatric pulmonologist, he has expertise and experience in treating children with all respiratory problems. He has a particular interest in children’s asthma where he ran a specialist MDT clinic for difficult asthma in Oxford.

Dr. Mohammed Taleb Alsamri is a consultant pediatric pulmonologist since 2009. He is also an Adjunct associate professor UAE University. He graduated from Sultan Qaboos University, 1998, then did the pediatric training in Canada. He obtained the Specialist Certificate in Pediatrics from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2005 and the Subspecialty Certificate in 2008. Currently working as a consultant pediatric pulmonology. 

Dr. Al Nuaimi is the first  UAE national pediatric pulmonologist; she has established this medical  field in UAE, currently based at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City SKMC, she is American, Canadian and European board certified in the field of pediatric pulmonary with  special interest in cystic fibrosis and chronic non CF bronchiectasis and medical ethics ,her major achievement was  participating in  the legislation of the DNR  /AND  law in an ethical manner through the federal law which is a milestone toward  establishing a functional  organ donation system in UAE and another clinical milestones and contributions, was establishing the newborn screening for Cystic fibrosis at the national level in UAE which makes UAE the first in the Middle East, this was a milestone in establishing personalized medicine era. She held multiple administrative posts including the chair of the department of pediatrics at Zayed military hospital (ZMH) and Deputy CMO at ZMH, and currently deputy CMO at Sheikh Khalifa medical city. Dr. Al Nuaimi has received Abu Dhabi medical distinction award for best clinical performance in 2012, she participated in teaching at many levels of undergraduate and post graduate, and she is involved in putting the guidelines for the health authority of Abu Dhabi for common respiratory diseases. 

Dr. Al khouri obtained Bachelor of Health Sciences from Dubai medical college, in May 2011. Following her medical education, Dr. Alkhouri completed a Pediatric residency program at Sheikh khalifa medical city Hospital in Aug 2016 and obtained Arab Board in Pediatrics in 2017. Further enhancing her expertise, Dr. Al Alkhouri completed pediatric respiratory fellowship at university of Toronto /The hospital for sick children in Toronto, Canada between sept 2021- January 2024.

Dr. Sofia Konstantinopoulou obtained her medical degree at the University of Athens, Medical school in Athens, Greece. She completed a residency in General Pediatrics at the Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, in Long Branch, NJ, USA. She then completed two fellowships in Pediatric Pulmonology and in Pediatric Sleep Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Philadelphia, PA, USA.  She is board certified in General Pediatrics, in Pediatric Pulmonology and in Sleep medicine. Dr. Konstantinopoulou worked as an attending physician at the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at CHOP, and she was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine, at the University of Pennsylvania.  For the past 6 years, she has been working as a consultant in pediatric pulmonology at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, where she serves as a core faculty of the ACGME accredited Pediatric residency program and as the lead clinical point of the Aerodigestive Clinic. Dr. Konstantinopoulou was recently appointed as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Khalifa University. <br> <br> Her main clinical focus is taking care of children with sleep disordered breathing, and specifically those, who require home mechanical ventilation. She is a member of many professional societies including the Emirates Thoracic Society, the American Thoracic Society, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American College of Chest Physicians.
